Mother makes a mountain out of a mole hill. Literally.

11:00am: managed to find ourselves grocery shopping again. This time in Auchan (directions to the store were established by transforming into the logo - a robin - lots of arm flapping). Spent an unnecessary amount of time perusing aisles and sampling strange local food. Stopped in our tracks when we came across 'les fruits exotiques', complete with caribbean attendant wearing a hawaiian shirt and singing along loudly to the colourful island music.

Decided we would officially no longer patronise Tesco's when we saw that Auchan's salad selection had it's own irrigation system:

15:00pm: crossed the French/Spanish border. Mother nearly had a nervous breakdown as we 'went over the Pyrenees!'. We didn't, it was a small hill. However we did see the Pyrenees in the distance:

16:00pm: arrived at our hotel near Barcelona. I shall admit I had a slight huff and puff over the heat but don't worry - I'm not complaining! I can finally feel my fingers, yay!

Saw the beautiful sunset from our window a little later and managed to get a shot:

19:00pm: mother spent half an hour arguing with herself. Was it safe to walk to the McDonalds 50 yards away? (Sorry, sorry, sorry - it was either typical UK fast food or WOK, a brightly-lit oriental buffet with an extremely stern warrior-esque waiter staring at us). Of course, we drove.

Not much else to update you all on to be honest, although the internet connection in this hotel is a little iffy - has the Spanish 'mañana' approach to life rubbed off on their approach to high-speed broadband services? I hope not :/

Mother's quote of the day: "Is this safe? What would Jane do?"

Let's hope mother attempts Spanish rather than broken-French tomorrow.

Much love,
Charlotte-Elizabeth xoxo
